In India, gender inequality is no stranger to us. Selective abortions, female infanticide and discrimination have plagued the mothers of tomorrow. In many places, women are still considered the weaker sex in society.
The problem may be too large or too complicated for ordinary citizens to solve in the short run. However, every gesture extended towards a destitute girl will at least help change her life for the better.
We are working with save the girl child or Beti Bachao campaign. to end the gender-selective abortion of female fetuses, which has skewed the population towards a significant under-representation of girls in some Indian states.
